The first interview is very simple and is a way for the company to get to know you as well as for you to learn more about the company. They will ask you why you are applying for the job and what you are looking for with New York Life. The first interview will give you a very broad overview of New York Life, positions at the company and the work you will be doing. It was more of a conversation to assess if New York Life would be a good fit for you. At the end, there was a quiz to understand your personality and network.
I applied through a recruiter. The process took 3 days. I interviewed at New York Life (Tampa, FL) in Mar 2013
Interview
Grueling. Interview done in 3 phases. Very technical questions from in-house experts. In person interview not structured and questions seemed to evolve based on responses. The good side is if they make an offer and you accept, you will be working with some very good, technically honed people.
I applied online. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at New York Life (Fort Wayne, IN) in Jul 2015
Interview
I applied through an internet job search site and was called back fairly quickly. The first interview was with the Senior Partner's assistant, who asked me basic interview questions. She gave an overview of the company and I was invited back to interview with the Senior Partner. My second interview with the Senior Partner went well, and I was invited back for a third interview, which is scheduled in the near future.
