I applied online. The process took 3 days. I interviewed at New York Life (Addison, TX)
Interview
Contacted by HR in New York. Tone was condescending and not respectful. Essence was they wanted a 27-30 year old male with finance skills and they did not want to look beyond the target profile. Don't waste your time if you have wisdom and experience. Some Companies have not realized the value of keen analytical thinking. Technical skills without know how gets a job done but doesn't create value. Interview experience was so negative it reflected poorly on the Company. Given the experience, the company would receive the lowest possible score.
I applied through other source. I interviewed at New York Life (Remote, OR) in Jun 2015
Interview
Over the phone; that was it. The manager who hired me is the one who cold called me and emailed me and is ultimately the one who interviewed and hired me.
I applied through a recruiter. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at New York Life (New Windsor, NY) in Dec 2015
Interview
Managers earn commission from the success of their team, so there's basically 100% chance to get the first interview. It is a three step interview process. Part of the process is to ask 10 strangers about their experiences with financial services. Bring a resume, I did not include a cover letter and that was fine. Wear a suit. Be prepared to take an online personality test.
