NEXT Sale Assistant interview questions

Applied online, fairly easy. Got an email confirming I had been shortlisted followed by a telephone interview, just some generic interview questions. They got back to me after about 5 days asking me to return to complete an assessment in-store. This is when the experience became negative. It was a group interview, we watched a 30 minute safety video and then spent roughly two and a half hours working on the shop floors (e.g. tills, stock replacement, changing rooms). My assessor ran away and started giggling in the corner with two other girls, threw an owl cushion around and didn't work. It was awfully organised. I was then offered a temp job for the Summer Sale rather than the job I applied for which I accepted, as I don't think I could have worked in the environment permanently.

Completed the online assessment and received a phone call the same day. After a quick phone interview, I was invited for an assessment the next day in-store. Upon arriving I was told the position was now only 7 hours over two days, which was a lot less than advertised. I was asked to assist on tills, put out stock and have a general tidy of the store. This lasted about 40 minutes. Afterwards, the lady shadowing me gave me a £10 voucher and £10 cash for my troubles, but told me she wanted someone with more retail experience, even though she knew about my experience before I was invited for my interview.
