Interview
Applied once, got a rejection email. Applied again and reached out to the recruiter on LinkedIn and got and she emailed me to schedule an interview. (Job poster is listed on LinkedIn postings, not the Motorola Solutions site, though you'll still be directed there to apply.) After the interview with her, I was supposed to interview with the hiring manager, who was a department lead. I got a call from someone else who works with him instead because something came up. He asked a lot of questions about my knowledge of and experience with machine learning (eg. what regressors/classifiers I'd used, whether I'd used gradient descent) and some basic OOP. I mentioned a past project I worked on and he asked why I used ML for it. He gave me a lot of positive feedback and apologized for focusing so much on ML because that's his specialty. I said I'd enjoyed discussing ML with him and I'm really passionate about it too. He said the department lead would reach out to me the next day, basically implied that he'd give him positive feedback. He never reached out. I sent the recruiter a thank you email and 2 follow up emails a couple weeks and then about a month later, then called her twice, left a message once, still no response. Literally ghosted me.
I applied online. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Motorola Solutions (Glasgow, Escocia) in Aug 2018
Interview
Applied online, was emailed a few weeks later to come in for a face to face interview.
Interview lasted about an hour and a half. First part just motivational questions and talking about myself and my CV. Next was a technical test which consisted of a few simple questions about my chosen language (Java). The technical interview was okay seemed like the interviewer was just asking questions off the top of his head which meant it was a bit varied what could be asked. All in all it was a decent process, was made to feel relaxed and had a good all round chat with them.
I applied in-person. I interviewed at Motorola Solutions in Oct 2016
Interview
Interviewed internally with a new project manager. Was told by supervisor there was a new opportunity for onboarding. Met with project manager, discussed expectations, was told this would be a lateral move.
Was told process would take 2 weeks to finalize. 2 weeks stretched into 2 months. Blown off by management. Finally was told that the position would be filled by a contractor. Way to motivate your current employees by hiring outside the company, guys.
