I applied through a recruiter. I interviewed at MIT
Interview
Too long; didn't interview with actual decision makers. The interview lasted over 3 hours. Inefficient process. Also, before 3 hour interview, they have you do an hour long phone interview.
I applied online. I interviewed at MIT (Cambridge, MA) in Dec 2014
Interview
I applied for the job online and received a response back from HR within two days for an interview. I interviewed the following week with the associate director and supervisor for the department. After the interview it took three months to find out that the position hadn't been filled and that they were still looking at candidates to fill the role. It seemed that they were willing to wait for the perfect candidate.

Interview
I got a phone interview from the HR first. It was short, about 10-15 minutes. She just checked some points on the resume and gave some explaination about the position. Then she scheduled site interview with me immediately. The site interview ended after only one question, do you need visa sponsorship?
