Since the company supposedly works in the telecom domain, few questions were targeted in the telecom/ communications domain.Example : What is cell sectoring and clustering, and why are sectors usually hexagonal ? How many satellites are required for a complete sector coverage of earth?
Programming basics and questions relating to academic projects were also asked.
I applied through a recruiter. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Lumen (Bellevue, WA) in Jun 2015
Interview
Their recruiter sought me out and was professional and encouraging. Initial screening homework problem was a good one and related to a very real application in cloud.
Onsite interview was programming ONLY. No tour, no chat, no "this is what we do here". I was put into a room with other employees and given brief instruction and started with programming tasks. The whole experience was a bit strange. Junior developers may do well with this.
Recruiter followed up the next day for opinions on the process. Very professional.
