I applied in-person. The process took 1 day. I interviewed at Kumon
Interview
The interview process was just coming in for a day to see how well you would work on a normal work day. For the day, they would ask us to grade papers that the students would turn in and to learn how to manage teaching the toddlers.
I applied through an employee referral. The process took 1 day. I interviewed at Kumon (Delta, BC) in Jul 2015
Interview
No interview, I was hired right away by recommendation. This is dependant on location because our location was hiring by recommendation only. Other locations will vary because our management was desperate for staff. This branch was constantly understaffed
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
No question was asked. We were just tested with a math worksheet.
I applied online. I interviewed at Kumon (Londres, Inglaterra)
Interview
Stage 1 was a Maths and English test plus presentation with business plan. This was followed by an interview and discussion with business owners. Once this stage was completed training commenced and worksheets had to be completed to the manager's satisfaction in your own time. This was very time consuming but useful especially on the higher level of mathematics/English. Training sessions were also held where it was expected you contributed. At any stage until the final signing of the contract any party could have opted out. Quiet worrying for prospective Instructors as a lot of time and work had gone in to this application. Having said that all necessary as Kumon have a reputation to uphold so Instructors need to be both capable and committed to hard work. I did not find the process easy but it was rewarding once completed and a franchise offer accepted.
