I applied online. I interviewed at Jet in Jun 2017
Interview
Applied online, recruiter reached out same day. Phone interview with the recruiter two days later, then a phone with the manager the following week. Both interviewers were not very enthusiastic - which definitely kills my excitement for a role. If they don't sound happy, it makes me feel like they aren't enjoying themselves and therefore the job. Certainly not always the case, but I don't have anything else to go on. All the manager's questions were "Tell me about a time when..." Exactly the same as Amazon interviews, however, it's obvious they don't have the same training and purpose Amazon has behind those questions. Amazon interviewers are trained on exactly what skills and traits (Leadership principle) each question is designed to elicit. I didn't get the feeling that this is what was going on at all with Jet. I also got the feeling that the manager was hiring for a higher level role than what the JD and the recruiter were looking for - an important disconnect. I think Jet is working in the right direction and has good intentions but aren't all the way there yet. In this particular case, the manager is new to the company and hasn't been given all the tools needed to evaluate candidate properly. I received an auto generated rejection email the next business day - which I was completely expecting and fine with. I would be interested in talking with Jet again down the road when they are a little more settled in and have more training and understand their needs better.
Interview questions [3]
Question 1
Tell me about a time when the data you were given was incorrect.
I applied through an employee referral. I interviewed at Jet (Hoboken, NJ)
Interview
First there was a phone interview screening with recruiter. Then I interviewed with 4 team members, 30 minutes each. Each team member asked different questions so the process never felt redundant, and the questions were thoughtful. All questions related to my past experience, what skills I would bring to Jet, and how I would integrate with the team and culture. Then there was a phone interview follow up with HR business partner to assess leadership skills.
