I applied through a recruiter. I interviewed at Jet (Jersey City, NJ) in Oct 2017
Interview
I spoke with 4 engineers and a recruiter. One was an engineering director and one was more junior than me (this didn't seem deliberate and it ended up wasting my time).
At least two of them hadn't read my résumé.
Nobody really talked about the future of the company, let alone got excited about it.
I was told that I wouldn't even get to choose a team − that they'd choose one for me and if I didn't like it, they'd see what they could do about getting something else. The recruiter expressed that his interview time with me wasn't official and was pretty much a waste of time. He couldn't look me in the eye.
Despite having been in the industry for >5 years, including 2 at Amazon, I was rejected with no explanation at all, which was puzzling to say the least. The recruiter reluctantly agreed to give me some insight if it was over the phone, but didn't follow through.
Everything about the process seemed like a shallow, fast evaluation that's optimised for sorting spam. If they do get a diamond in the rough, how is that person supposed to feel?
Everyone was talking about the pricing engine and it seemed that this is their only strategy for their site. Good luck :/

I applied on Jet.com and received an email inviting me to have a phone interview. I scheduled the interview time online and received an email asking a couple screening questions. By the time of the phone interview, I got an email indicating that they would not continue with my application. I mean, thanks but really? You cancel the interview when the interview is suppose to start?
I'm very disappointed with the experience.
