Summary: Confusing management w/zero interpersonal skills. Unclear scope of role that did not match job description, and surprise "pop" quiz during 1 interview
1. Initial interview w/HR who gave said hiring manager "kept changing what he was looking for", when inquired on source of this HR response change in priorities
2. 30 minute interview w/hiring manager who became clear didn't know what skills/competencies seeking in candidates as wasn't sure scope of job; "hadn't decided to build MMM/MTA in-house or work w/outside vendor to build". Note job description stated knowledge of advanced measurement & MMM/MTA was required, no mention of build-out.
Hiring manager confused over the use of averages to determine outliers.
3. request (surprisingly) for continuing on to interview w/Director of Predictive Analytics who which promptly told me interview agenda which included a 20 minute pop quiz at the end that required answering ~20 math questions while she watched.
Disappointing management & leadership at IHG, from hiring manager not having full defined scope of role to zero interpersonal skills (response to question "tell me a time of a successful collaboration w/another function & what made it work well, Director of Predictive Analytics disappointing response was to list lift generated from 3 models developed, nothing related to people and gaining buy-in) to timed "pop quiz" during interview that requires math by hand.
No wonder IHG Hotels is struggling and receives poor reviews on Glassdoor given the analytics leadership, or lack thereof
