Submitted my application online, then someone called from HR a couple of weeks later. An interview was arranged for two days later (short notice). The interview was conducted with two young members of staff, neither particularly competent at interviewing, and they also ran late (I got there 20 minutes early). They asked a few competency-based questions, then introduced the role-play scenario. It was a three page document detailing one of their hotels you had to sell to a customer phoning up. They give you ten minutes to prep, and leave the room to conduct the mock-call on the phone. The interviewer did not know what was on my sheet as he asked me question I could not answer, and later apologised as it left me confused. A total joke of an interview and not very representative of IHG - everyone I encountered prior to my interview was lovely.
