I applied online. The process took 1 week. I interviewed at Hays in Jan 2015
Interview
Pretty simple. it was a phone chat with the corporate recruiter. A phone interview with the recruiting manager and then an in person interview where you met a few members of the team.

Interview
First stage was submitting a cv and doing a brief telephone interview, a few questions about my previous work, interests and motivations and given some more information about the role. Second stage was a face to face interview with a senior recruiter in the office, was very brief and laid back, made me feel as ease, more of the same questions as the telephone interview about past work etc. Next stage was a sales assessment with 5 others, it had four part, first a little introduction about yourself and then give a two minute presentation on an aspect of hays or recruitment (you were shown some promotional videos first to get the info). For the second part we were given a little bit of info about a company and had to make a business development call to try and sell hays to them, they throw up big objections with a variety of reasons and it's just to test your ability to think on your feet. Third part was writing a job advert for a role you were provided information about and the final part was selling a candidate to a client. Again they throw up a lot of objections and ask a lot of questions you probably can't answer but it's just to see how you react. The final stage of the process involved another face to face interview with the office manager and regional director. This was more of a personal interrogation to really dig in to your motivation and personality. It felt a bit over intense at times but they are just trying to establish if you would be a good fit and if you would really enjoy the job and stick with it.

Interview
I joined the open day. The process was 3 steps:
1. Listening to a presentation which was presented by an internal recruiting manager- 1 hour
2. Each candidate gave a short self introduction about yourself and your motivation to Hays
3. Group Role play- the interviewer tried to give us pressure by creating challenges and obstacles
I haven't been told whether I can go to the next step or not. Anyway, good luck. Hope this can help.
Thank you for your interview feedback. I note you went to an open day and experienced 3 of the 4 exercises in this stage of our recruitment methodology however I note your comment about not hearing back from us about next steps. Could I please ask you to call me so I can understand what stage your application is at and arrange for someone to feed back to you? You can reach me on 0203 465 0202. Jenna Alexander
