At first I interviewed for an internship but since I could only do part-time because of my studies, the pay was way too low. It was 850 Euros for 20h a week. That's barely over minimum wage and not a "competitive salary" as stated in the ad. I declined. The friendly employee said that they will look for a normal position but part time because the pay would be better. I thanked them.
To my surprise only a week later I got an e-mail telling me I was invited to an assisten buyer interview. I was thrilled an prepared. What followed were 5 interviews with everyone from "normal" workers to the head of the department. Everything went smoothly. No hiccups. Everyone was very professional, friendly and easy to talk to.
I mentioned multiple times and to multiple people that I was only doing part time but would later (after finishing my studies in 6 months) join for full time position (an idea brought up by the head of the department). Everybody understood that and was looking forward to working with me.
Then, after 6 weeks of interviews, I had a last meeting with HR (this time a different employee; it seemed in a more senior role) and they offered me an Internship. The reason being that they don't do normal positions in part-time, only internships.
I said that I couldn't take that big of a pay cut and that this was the reason I was invited for a normal position in the first place. The answer: oh, that was an error. She didn't know that/wasn't informed. I pointed out that in all the e-mails it did say "assistend buyer" and not a word about an internship. She didn't see. I pointed out that I talked about it to multiple people on multiple occasions. She didn't know.
I thanked her for her time. She said that if they found out where the error lied, they would contact me. Now it is almost three weeks later and still no contact.
Avoid if possible.
They wasted 6 weeks of my time because of something that could have been solved by communicating with each other.
