I applied online. The process took 5 weeks. I interviewed at Glassdoor (Mill Valley, CA) in Jul 2015
Interview
The first phone interview was very straightforward. Despite the ease of the questions I was really nervous! The interviewer asked the standard "tell me about yourself," "how familiar are you with Glassdoor?," "what drew you to this position?," and "why Glassdoor?" At the end of our conversation she gave me a timeline of when to expect an answer regarding the next step in the interviewing process. My second phone interview was with the hiring manager. I found the hiring manager to be very personable and conversation flowed naturally. She asked about my favorite and least favorite managers, and my greatest fear about this job. I really appreciated the interviewers' clear communication and adherence to the established timeline. After two very engaging interviews, my interest in the company is further heightened and I have been inspired to apply to two other positions at Glassdoor.

Interview
The process took approximately 5 weeks. First call was with a recruiter, pretty standard background discussions. I was then asked to do an online assessment which was very thorough, brush up on your algebra! I didn't hear any feedback on the assessment, but was then scheduled for a 2 hour Skype call with 4 employees (1 person every 30 min). Each interview was very conversational and talked about similar things with each person like background, why glassdoor, etc. One discussion with a Sales Manager was almost entirely spent on a similar interest we had and I was rarely asked any interview questions. Towards the end, the 3rd employee an Account Executive, let me know that the 4th employee who was a Sales Manager would no longer be able to join in as he was in a meeting. Looking back, I would have asked to schedule an additional call with the Sales Manager who canceled because it is important in an interview process for everyone involved to have a good sense of who you are as a candidate.
I was then scheduled for the 3rd round which is a mock sales pitch done over the phone and by sharing your screen for your ppt presentation. This call was with the same 3 employees from the previous interview plus the one who canceled. Not having any Glassdoor training, I was unable to "get the close" because I didn't have the pricing to present. One thing they are specifically looking for is to get each person on the call involved when asking questions. Ask each person about their individual role, and call out their names throughout the presentation. My mistake was asking questions for any of them to answer. It was semi-tricky to prepare for since the only info on the company we can use is what we find online, but it's pretty much to gauge how you sell and your way of going through the sales process. The following day I received the generic 'we're moving forward with other candidates' email. No feedback, but that's pretty standard. I was told by the AE that most candidates who make it to the 2nd and 3rd rounds are employee referrals, so if you're not (like I wasn't), make sure to work extra hard to make an impression.

Question 1
If you make it to the sales pitch round, make sure to engage with each person on the call, even if one of them is doing all of the talking.

Interview
The people I met at Glassdoor during my interview process are the reason I accepted!
The first round was a phone interview with a Glassdoor recruiter. She asked basic questions and told me about the job, the company, etc.
The second round was on-site. I met with four different people on the Sales team: an SDR, two team leads and the senior manager. I spoke with each of them for about 20 minutes. All four were so great and so unique. They asked me different behavioral questions (background, why sales, why Glassdoor). It was more a conversation though and it was such a comfortable setting. After the fourth meeting, the hiring manager gave me feedback and said the team would like to move forward with me!
I led a PowerPoint presentation on myself for the third and final round. A selection of the sales team was there and they listened attentively and then asked poignant questions after I finished. I again received after the presentation, and my manager offered me the job on the spot!
I cannot speak more highly of the whole process. The people I met during this whole experience sold me. I wanted to find a company that I believed in and so I of course support Glassdoor's mission but more importantly, I wanted to find a group of people who challenged me but who I could also have fun with. Glassdoor is home and I couldn't be more excited!
Welcome to the team we are excited and lucky to work with you! I'm glad that you felt that you would be challenged but at the same time felt comfortable with us. The SDR team strives for a work place that is competitive and pushes us to be better, but at the same time collaborative so that we all improve as a team.
