I applied online. The process took 4 months. I interviewed at Eli Lilly and Company (Indianapolis, IN) in Jul 2019
Interview
It took me 4+ MONTHS from the submission of application to result. There was a writing assignment prior to the interview. Hard, but not too hard. The interview questions were purely behavioral. No direct questions about my past experience or the position/company even if I researched a lot. I tried to link some questions to my knowledge about the company. The people and interviewers at Lilly were very friendly and respectful. I felt warmly welcomed. However, do not rely on their positive reactions to judge your own performance. I thought I did very well based on their reactions, but I didn't get the offer. This issue also occurred to my friends who applied to Lilly. They just displayed professional behaviors, not their true feelings.
There is something that really confuses me. It happened to my other applications to other pharmaceutical companies. I have a high degree directly related to pharmaceuticals. However, the companies ended up hiring those with irrelevant bachelor's degrees like Animal Behaviors and Geology. I really don't understand, and they never provided me any honest constructive feedback. I guess business world is just this realistic. They never care to use any more minutes on those whom they declined.
