Interview
After passing the cognitive test, language proficiency and real-work scenarios (consisting of several case studies involving financial statement analyses and providing feedback to the preparer on key issues), I was called for an interview.
While it was good to see a human face after passing all these stages and investing the time, the interviewer was quite dismissive - looking for some specific keywords in my background and literally mentioning that she “did not care” about my background in non-transactional areas of finance. When I objected the conclusions she jumped about my background, she said she would not hire me anyway because I argued with her and we ended the interview. I guess she was not expecting the candidate to object to anything (which I find quite strange) After seeing this attitude, no matter how lucrative the salary or comfortable the working conditions might be, I would not want to work for a company that has senior leaders like the interviewer. Thankful that the interview lasted 5 minutes and I was able to figure that out...
