i applied on line, and also dropped my application at the local store i wanted to work at. a few weeks later i got a call from HR, and had a phone screen interview. basic questions on customer service, and lots of questions about my availability and the hours / schedule they require for a SEASONAL SALES person. must work one 8 hr shift each weekend, and be able to close one or two nights a week. and your avail to work over Thanks, Xmas, and New Years. i am sure this filters out a lot of people. then the HR person set up a one on one interview with the store manager. again lots of questions about customer service, retail, etc. very nice person. interview felt more like a good conversation.
