The process took 1 day. I interviewed at Coach (San Francisco, CA) in Nov 2008
Interview
it was for a seasonal sales position and it was in a group setting where two managers would explain to us what they're looking for and the requirements that coach expects (sales goals, customer service, etc)
then they would give us scenarios, eg it's just you on the floor and there is a couple looking at a handbag, another customer just walked in and the phone is ringing..what do you do
they also put you on the spot and ask you to demonstrate for them, role play and pretend you are the sales associate and they are the customer--to see how you'd sell to them
I applied in-person. The process took 1+ week. I interviewed at Coach (Toronto, ON) in Oct 2011
Interview
The group interview was very standard for retail positions. We talked the brands we like (are loyal to), a good customer service experience we've previously had, a time when we had to learn something new and how did that go, what makes people want to come back to a store. And we each had to sell an item we had with us, so I attempted to sell the coach bag I had with me to the store manager and she seemed very pleased with my brand knowledge. I found out I was hired and so was the other girl in the group with me, and we were the only ones showed up in the dress code specified by the manager when we handed in our resume in the store.
