The interview was over the phone. It was no longer than 30 minutes and you were asked different questions about your experience, but also given different scenarios to see how you would handle it. The interview was really smooth and easy going. Your responses are typed while they are listening to you speak, which is kind of distracting, but other than that it's okay.

With everything happening in Chicago with the education system and the battles that youth face daily, how will you handle those things?
Online application of essay questions asking about leadership style, why you want to be a team leader and also includes a submission of resume. There is an in-person interview with a City Year Chicago staff member that lasted about an hour, call-back within two weeks

phone call with about 15 questions that have already been described by others on here. You can also do an in person interview. She asked me questions by phone and then wrote them down after I answered them. The delay between questions can throw some people but she made me feel comfortable. Over phone interview, i was unable to discern if my responses were being judged positively.
