I applied online. I interviewed at City Year in Mar 2015
Interview
The interview was over the phone. It was no longer than 30 minutes and you were asked different questions about your experience, but also given different scenarios to see how you would handle it. The interview was really smooth and easy going. Your responses are typed while they are listening to you speak, which is kind of distracting, but other than that it's okay.

Question 1
With everything happening in Chicago with the education system and the battles that youth face daily, how will you handle those things?
Very simple. Quick virtual interview and pretty simple questions. Research their values and what not and you should be good to go. As far as I remember it was a single interview and decision is relatively soon after that.
Really friendly and welcoming. Try to make it as comfortable as possible and share about the work they do. They want to ensure applicants are making the right decisions and that they assess the values.
I applied through college or university. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at City Year
Interview
Done over zoom and not an overly long process interviews are usually conducted by the IM for a school in the city you are applying for but if you have a pulse you should be fine
