Simple phone call interview. Asked about why I was interested in serving with City Year, my previous experience, and behavioral questions regarding working with students. It was about a 30 minute interview. They also gave me some time to ask questions about City Year, the stipend, work hours, serving with the after-school program ,etc.
I applied online. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at City Year in Mar 2019
Interview
The interview felt very comfortable and conversational. Mine took place over the phone and equally balanced questions about myself and information about City Year. There was a focus on work with students/young people, educational equity, and social justice.

Question 1
What experience do you have teaching or mentoring young people/students?
Straight forward interview process, knew quickly about the decision. More of a conversation than anything but would suggest reading up on the values of the org first and coming up with questions before the interview as money and responsibilities can be tough during a TL year.
