I applied through an employee referral. The process took 2 days. I interviewed at CarMax (San Diego, CA) in Mar 2015
Interview
Started with an over the phone interview. Followed with a one day face to face interview with a chipper manager in closed office. Drug test was the same day. Took about 2 hours total. Kearny Mesa greeting was very welcoming.
I scheduled a call after submitting the online application. Received the call at the appropriate time and spoke to a woman that asked a series of typical interview questions as well questions regarding the gaps in my employment.
There was no interview for the Inglewood location because I transferred locations, however I'm sure the interview process is about the same.
They really want to see that you are charismatic and enjoy speaking with people.

Question 1
How have I helped people understand difficult and complex concepts
Demonstrate the explanation of a difficult concept
I applied through a recruiter. The process took 1 week. I interviewed at CarMax (Kennesaw, GA) in Sep 2015
Interview
The interview process is extremely tiring and unnecessary - the interview process takes 8 hours. The company makes you complete a 3 panel interview 10 questions each panel along with a case study. They will also take you to lunch but know by the first panel whether they are going to hire or not. They make you complete a drug test at the end of the interview but don't be fooled by all of this I have seen people go through the whole process be called for a follow up phone interview and not receive a position. Be prepared to spend your whole day on this interview process, great thing you get a lunch out of the company if you don't get the job.

Question 1
Tell me about a time when you had to deliver a difficult message?
I applied online. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at CarMax (Atlanta, GA) in Nov 2016
Interview
Very intense process, but you can see why they have some of the lowest turnover. They are looking for longevity in cadidates unlike most places where they get 3-4 years out of people. Started with online app and then personality assessment, phone nterview (1 hourish), online assessment which is a computer simulation and you record video response (2-4hours online) then in-person interview (4 hours) then a drug test (oral swab) I've heard nothing but amazing things about the company and culture and you can tell everyone loves working here. So I can appreciate the long interviewing process. Study up on situational questions regarding work history. Practice until your brain hurts :) "Tell me a time...."
