A senior recruiter from Andela reached out to me via LinkedIn. After discussing the job description, they asked me to complete an assessment. The test consisted of 15 multiple-choice questions on manual QA concepts, 10 SQL-related multiple-choice questions, and a programming exercise that involved solving an easy problem. I successfully passed the assessment, after which I received a link to schedule a 1-hour video interview.
During the interview, the engineer asked me various manual software testing questions, including topics like bug leakage, test metrics, testing types, and differences between bug lifecycle stages. We also covered several Selenium-related questions, such as the difference between assert and verify, and handling StaleElementReferenceException. This was followed by two programming exercises, one on identifying palindromic numbers and another on checking for prime numbers.
The interview overall went well, though I struggled to answer a few manual testing definitions. It was a great learning experience.
