I applied through an employee referral. The process took 2 months. I interviewed at Amazon (Indianapolis, IN)
Interview
Was referred internally. Received an offer to interview via HireVue, Amazon's screening process. It was very awkward and off putting to watch and hear yourself on screen. I felt very uncomfortable through the entire process, but received an offer for an in-person interview a few days later. I was flown out Indianapolis for the in-person interview. All accommodations were paid for, including travel and food expenses. Once I arrived at the interview, the recruiters there made me feel very welcome and very comfortable. I met with two women, one at a time. I believe the first was screening me to see if I would be a good personality fit for the company, and the second woman was more so interviewing me about my skill set and experience. All in all, it was a very comfortable experience. They truly just want to have a conversation with you. Be sure to read all the leadership principles and relate them back to your answers (answered in the STAR format) and you will be fine!

Question 1
Tell me about a time you faced a challenge in a group setting
I applied online. The process took 2+ months. I interviewed at Amazon (Hebron, KY) in Feb 2016
Interview
Applied online (December 2015). Was contacted by a recruiter not long after with a request to answer some initial questions via email (interest in Amazon, availability, background, etc.). After about a week, I was then invited to do a virtual interview - which was very convenient. I was able to do it in the comfort on my home at whatever time I chose. This interview had pretty typical questions (skills, interests, background). After 1-2 weeks, I was contacted again by the recruiter to schedule a phone interview with an HRBP. This interview was conversational but did have some behavioral questions. After another week, I was invited to the Fulfillment Center for a final interview. However, a few days before the interview - I was notified that they had decided to hire an internal candidate but would keep me in consideration for the next open role. About 2 weeks later, I was contacted again by the recruiter - letting me know that another Sr. HRA role had opened and they'd like me to come in for a final round interview. The last interview was at one of Amazon's Fulfillment Centers. I had about an hour tour, an hour interview with an HR Manager, and an hour interview with an Operations Manager. They asked more behavioral questions. A week later, I was extended an offer (February 2016). Overall it was a speedy process that they try to make as convenient/friendly as possible (took about 2-2 1/2 months). Everyone I met, especially the recruiter, was very nice!
You're asked up front if you're okay working in a 24/7 varying work shift, manufacturing environment.

Question 1
Tell me about a time where you dealt with a difficult customer or negative feedback?
I applied through college or university. The process took 3 months. I interviewed at Amazon (Seattle, WA) in Jan 2016
Interview
I was contacted by an Amazon University Recruiter during my senior year of college. I responded to the email eagerly accepting the opportunity to do a phone interview. They were very quick about setting it up and I had an interview scheduled for the next week. I was very nervous and did my best to prepare and after some online research I made sure all of my answers were in the STAR method format. The questions were all behavioral based. My interviewer was great and sounded very sure of what she was asking and encouraged me to dig deeper into my answers which really made me think. We got along well and after 30-45 minutes she told me that I would be moving on to the next step. Because this was their peak season I had to wait two months before my in-person interview. They did touch base with me a couple times while I was waiting and told me if I changed my mind or accepted another job offer to kindly let them know. I finally received my interview notice a week into January. They were always prompt and contacted me when they said they would! My interview was in Seattle and only a 20 minute commute for me so I did not require any travel arrangements that they offered (including car rental, flight, and hotel). At the interview site there were a few other candidates and they all seemed very intelligent and friendly and they all came from different places. I was excited to be apart of this diverse group. I had two 45 minute interviews and my first one was a little shaky due to my nerves I'm sure. I thought I did not do so well. The interviewer seemed like he was new to interviewing but he was friendly enough and once he got the hang of his role and I got a hold of my nerves it was smoother. The second interviewer was a lot more experienced and we had a great conversation as she was in the department I would be working in so I had a lot of questions answered. I did sign a Non Disclosure Agreement so I will not be specific about the questions that were asked or the discussions I had within that interview time frame with anyone. I was told that I would know the results of the interview by the next week. My interview was on a Thursday morning, and I accepted my offer by Tuesday afternoon! Now I am waiting for location placement which I can find out anywhere in the next couple of months. That may seem like a long time to wait but they have been so good about sticking to their time frames that they set and I am confidant that I will be satisfied.
I have heard a lot of horror stories during my research of the company including some crazy interview experiences. But I have to say, this was nothing but pleasant for me and they have been efficient and professional throughout this entire process. I cannot wait to begin my journey here and see where it takes me.
