I applied online. The process took 5 weeks. I interviewed at Allstate (Melbourne, FL) in Jul 2010
Interview
Process was easy, search online, custom tailor your resume and cover letter to the job. Then upload online and wait to hear back. Fortunately got a call and did a phone interview then came in for the job interview. Everyone I dealt with was friendly the entire length of the process.

Question 1
No technical questions, just realize it's all about dealing with people and know that you need to have good people skills.
I applied online. The process took 1 week. I interviewed at Allstate (Northbrook, IL) in Oct 2012
Interview
I applied online and within two days I had an email and phone call from a recruiter to conduct a phone interview. I was asked one behavioral question which she seemed pleased with my answer. She then sent me an online test to take in the next 24 hours. The test was to take 60 minutes but it only took maybe 40. It was all multiple choice and fairly easy if you understand customer service. Once I passed the online test the recruiter sent an email stating she would send my information to the hiring manager.
I received a call the next day and was in two days later for an interview. Right away we entered the questions that were on the typical corporate interview forms. There were five questions that were somewhat surprising. They then told me about the position and gave me time to ask questions. It lasted only 35 minutes.
I was called two business days later and asked to meet for 15 minutes with the "office manager". Well I incorrectly interpreted office manager as an admin but she was more like the president or director of the entire satellite office. She asked very specific questions related to my resume and work history. I was also given the opportunity to ask questions. Even though it should have only lasted 15 minutes I was there for 30. She told me they would make a decision the next day and I got a call from the recruiter stating they were offering me the position.
Overall it was a great experience. It was very fast but fortunately for me I am familiar with the industry and was ready for fast. The women who interviewed me were patient, kind, professional, and delightful. Even the recruiter took some time to answer some personal questions about why she liked working for Allstate. I'm sold!
