I applied online. The process took 2 days. I interviewed at Agoda (Taipei) in Jan 2019
Interview
The recruiter called me from somewhere Thailand, and the signal wasn't that good at the beginning. The phone interview was around 30 minutes, and ask me some basic interview questions. After asking the interviews questions, the recruiter gave me some scenarios and asked to solve the problems. Also, the interview was conducted bilingually, in English and Mandarin Chinese.

Question 1
What was your most impressive project you had done in your previous job? Describe in details.
I applied through an employee referral. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Agoda (Bangkok) in Jan 2019
Interview
There were actually two separate incidents. First was in 2017 when Agoda BKK made me take up hours of online assessments, endless (ar least 5) rounds of Skype remote interviews, said it was normal procedures, couldnt tell me what role I am applying for and then went silent, just to come back to me 3 months later and asked me "would you like to continue with the hiring process?!" wtf?!
Then, more than a year later now in 2019, I thought that things might have improved at Agoda BKK but I was so wrong. This time, I got a peer with a senior role to refer and quickly got an invite to Bangkok for an on-site interview. And I had to redo all the hours of online assessments which was useless in the hiring process anyway. Boomz, the interviews were random and poorly ran, again nobody knew what role I was applying for, zero questions were asked with relevance to a Director role and everyone said again that this is the standard procedure at Agoda. I applied for Director role but I was asked if I had any other questions and was given random domain-specific questions when clearly I was not from the same industry. When I offered to explain my thought process than giving actual answers, the interviewer switched off, was fiddling with his h/p and rejected all my ideas. Sure, maybe my answers were bad but lets respect the interview process and everyone's time ya?
Another boasted he was the first of the Product team (not sure whats the point), asked me nothing useful and after Day 1 (out of 2) of multiple interviews, they cut short and determined that I was a mismatch even though I have worked and launched successful products and projects of multiple times of scale and volume than Agoda. Only saving grace was the HR/Recruiting manager calling me for a debrief.
Horrid processes, waste of time and a seemingly arrogant bunch of ignorant folks with seemingly a toxic culture and male-egos (yes 8 out of 8 scheduled interviewers were males). They even boasted that this is how they do it to all candidates.... mindblowing! No wonder the Agoda app looks like crap to-date!
