The pay is lower than in other hotels. The difference between a leader position and a team member position is not even £1, so you will have a lot of responsibilities and your team will have a salary almost equal to yours. They promote "perks" with your Benvenue Card (a discount's card to use in Accor and other places) but in 2 years and a half working in the company, I've never got it. There is no "dry cleaning service". You have to clean your own uniform at home. They can ask you to cover other Ibis hotels if needed. Most of the time you cannot say no. The staff food is terrible (especially during and after Covid-19). Most of the time (depending on the hotel) you are on your feet during the whole shift, even if is not busy. If the hotel is short of staff, most of the times they will not hire anyone, so be ready to be a receptionist, housekeeper, chef, kitchen porter and bar team member, all at once. To have a decent salary you need to reach the General Manager position because even the Assistant General Manager has a salary that is not adjusted to his or her responsibilities. For this, you need your boss to send you to company training (of course, if your GM likes you and wants to put money on your career). Otherwise, you will be stuck forever in a job that you will certainly hate, with a salary that is not even decent to have a life in an expensive country like the UK. If you want a job for a couple of months, it is fine. If you want to grow in a professional environment and have a decent salary, do not lose your time here. Sometimes you work more than 5 days in a row (I worked 7 many times). If someone calls in sick, most of the times they are going to call you to cover on your day off (and you will not get it back). If you are on shift and non of your colleagues can cover, you will probably have to do more hours (I worked 16 hours a couple of times). There is no balance between work and your personal life. You will be too tired to enjoy your time off.
