Pros

Work-life balance is ok, do not expect more.

Cons

Risky environment of low margins and complex processes. Organization very decentralized. CEO and his team of senior leaders define no real strategy for growth for the company. Absolutely no innovations in sight in this senior team. Absolutely "stale" (word the CEO used to describe "his" company). Employees are mostly dissatisfied (company did a survey on satisfaction), high turn-over in the HQ (>20% pa) is normal.

Pros

Still some honest managers left, especially in middle / low management.

Cons

Terrible ethics covered by "so called values". Mobbing has been used in several occasions during the last years with full acceptance of top management and CEO

Pros

Global exposure, with opportunities to travel and live abroad. They are trying to make things better. Tough it out for 18 months to get the experience you need and then move on. Gategroup will give you the global experience faster than most employers.

Cons

Very little data, overly complex matrix organisation, poorly defined processes, limited career progression and rewards for staff who are expected to work extra hours for free. Threatening behaviour from Managers, equal balance between leaders who micro manage and others who will not take responsibility enabling them to point the finger when things go wrong. Not enough people to do the job. Too much restructuring making it difficult for staff to know where they stand, with a bit of a hire and fire culture.
