You learn everything there is to know about retail. Because it's still a small company you are able to do Visuals, shipment, help customers, host in-store events, assist manager with store displays.

Cons

Company does not offer Internships, It is way too easy to get promoted. So sometimes the managers don't know what they are doing either.

A roller coaster of a company and experience.

Pros

Freedom of visuals for your boutique, guideline directives are sent out for company trend purposes. Boutique employees are extremely willing to help out (especially other short-staffed boutiques). Decent work/life balance, 401k plan offered, promote from within.

Cons

Horrible pay for their expectations, too much merchandise in-store (no communication with buyers or allocators), communication from HQ to the storefront is limited and always in the grey area, only FT positions available is for Boutique Managers- no one else. Poor quality of clothing and jewelry, it is sometimes difficult to stand behind the product knowing it could break or tear at any moment from taking it out of the shipping boxes.

Visual merchandising freedom, small staff so your coworkers become like family, some really sweet guests depending on location.

Cons

Turnover in management is unreal both because of high rates of letting staff go and management up and leaving. Almost every location is understaffed which means part times employees work doubles and 40+ hours with far more responsibility then they are being compensated for.
