Pros

Successful company and the platform is great, I was using it before I even worked here.

Cons

Sales is obviously a very competitive environment no matter where you are, your numbers tell your story and that's obviously something very important no matter where you are, BUT I felt the atmosphere at Zoominfo specifically was toxic. Unless you're willing to work 15 hours a day and take absolutely no time for yourself, you are likely not getting promoted within the first year, even if you come in with experience like I did. On top of that, you're also not getting paid enough to work those hours to make it even feel worth it. The micromanagement here is unlike anything I had ever seen, my manager told a kid on my team to better plan his bathroom breaks so they didn't interfere with a call block. You also get messaged if they see 10 minutes go by without a call. You're made to feel guilty when you try to use any of the unlimited PTO they love to brag about. You're calling the same people over and over again so you spend half the day getting yelled at. If you value your mental health and having some sort of life outside of work, this isn't for you.

Thank you for taking the time to share your experience working at ZoomInfo. We’re pleased to hear you found value in our product prior to joining. Sales is certainly a competitive atmosphere, and with the amount of growth we have experienced this year, we understand it can leave colleagues feeling especially busy. We brought this review to Brian Vital, our Vice President of Sales and he had some feedback we'd like to share: Regarding work/life balance, our culture is dynamic and we are laser-focused on successfully building out the go-to-market platforms of the future. This is no small feat and oftentimes it forces us to move at a fast pace, be innovative and work hard. In terms of 15-hour workdays, it is rare that our sales team members experience days that long, and if they do, they are compensated for them. In regard to employees taking breaks, we certainly wouldn’t try to stop anyone from excusing themselves to use the restroom- that would not be a great experience for anyone involved. We strive to ensure our hard-working employees feel empowered to utilize time off through our unlimited PTO program. We also empower our employees to manage their work/life balance despite the changing demands. Our internal mobility is 3x the industry average, and we always aim to promote from within so our employees experience excellent career growth during their time here. In fact, we often see promotions from inbound to outbound sales occur within the first six months of employment. I hope this helps. -Brian Vital, Vice President, Sales Development

Pros

Great product, steady flow of inbound leads, always stuff to call, can make great money as an SDR

Cons

Toxic work environment. Management routinely requires SDR's to work 14 hour days. Forces SDR team to work late to hit metrics, made us compete with each other to get holidays off. We were cold-calling on Christmas and competing with each other to shave hours off our workday. Routinely forced to work weekends. They truly do not care about their people. We were all told that our mental health was of the utmost importance during the pandemic, but then were forced to work over 50 hours per week.

Thank you for your feedback. Our SDR team has great income opportunities, and it’s the ideal platform to jumpstart a career in tech sales. We have many current employees in leadership positions that began their ZoomInfo careers as SDRs. The nature of the position is that it is volume-based, and you get out what you put in; however, we would like to point out that working on Christmas is on a volunteer basis only. We create competitions with awesome spiffs, including shares of company stock, to make the work more fun. We are disappointed that this did not translate to a positive experience for you. Thanks again for taking the time to leave your thoughts, and we wish you the best in your future endeavors. – The ZoomInfo Employee Experience Team

Pros

Zoominfo pays first 3 months of your bonus while ramping up.

Cons

The training is horrible and they expect you to know the entire job within 2 weeks. Zoominfo teaches shady practices where they tell us to not remind clients of upcoming contract renewals so that they will auto-renew and locked into the agreement for another year. If you have an morals you would not work for this company.
