Pros

The people are amazingly smart and super nice. The office atmosphere is very warm and pretty much has an open door policy. The staff is very diverse which is refreshing.

Cons

Management is very phony. Most of the things that come out of their mouth should not be believed. Associates work super long hours and administrative staff should be very careful because if a Principal has an issue with you then you should start to look for another job. Management gives very little direction on what they need and HR is not there to protect employees (they do whatever senior management says) even when they disagree or know it's wrong. The review process is horrible as your picture is displayed on a projector screen with all the Principals/Managers in a conf room and then they discuss you saying what they like/dislike about you. I've never seen this done anywhere before as the person to review you should only be the person you report to/work for.

Pros

- very smart and driven people - good place to build basic consulting skills (technical) and rigor

Cons

- reducing reputation of the firm in-front of the clients because the mid-management levels of organization are responsible for delivering as well as selling projects, which often leads to a conflict of interests. Managers sell work just to meet their quotas, regardless of whether the work is good for long term client interests or not - high cost pressures lead managers to undersell work, and then put pressures on employees to perform high workload with fewer hours billed towards the project budget - adhoc staffing processes: managers estimate man-hours required for a project by pure guesswork. resource staffing is headed across multiple offices by a single part time employee - work is focused in niche areas - leading to poor exit options, most of the times the employees struggle with situations that are only marginally relevant to a small set of people - multi-project staffing (usually 3-4, even at lower levels of the organization) - no transparency in the review process (they recently changed the process, making it more and more blackbox) - very limited mobility allowed between functional areas - the company seems to have lost sense of direction. it is getting more into IT to gain revenues (IT projects generally range in millions). it is high risk as margins are razor thin and the market is dominated by large outsourcing firms that have more experience, resources and war chest to win this game

Pros

Very good salary and insurance benefits from the company's side

Cons

Zero consideration for the employee's time No recognition whatsoever for a humongous amount of time and effort put into any project Unnecessarily critical of an employee even when they go out of their way to make sure a project is being completed, no matter what time of day. Very poor process of promoting people. Personally, I was asked to leave the company because they "felt" I was not showing enough motivation to take charge and learn for my project. This coming after I was very unfairly placed on a PIP by a former project manager out of his personal spite, in the previous cycle. And mind you, I have worked very late nights going up to 2 AM, weekends, even public holidays almost. And I even woke up at 6 AM once to give client support, having worked the previous night till 9 PM. All of this while having to deal with constant changes in hierarchy and incompetent seniors in the project. To do all of this and then to hear I'm not motivated enough was honestly the last nail in the coffin. Some part of me might feel bad about the salary, but I do not miss the daily dynamics whatsoever.
