Outsourcing Jobs Without Transparency
Pros
Main pro (basically only reason why I am still working here) is the flexibility and possibility to work remotely. Colleagues are nice, too bad nobody wants to go to the office anymore because we are so fed up with everything.
Cons
The company is clearly outsourcing jobs to India without explicitly saying they are. Over the course of one year, they have completely dismantled the UK and US Tech Teams whilst simultaneously (and secretly: those jobs were not advertised on the company's website!!) hiring staff in India for those same roles. We are constantly being told that the company is following a "follow the sun" strategy where we aim to have 24 hours coverage across different time-zones. Well, we now have 0 Tech coverage in UK and US, and 24hours coverage in India, as they got rid of all of the experienced (and more expensive) staff in the UK and US and hired inexperienced (and cheap) staff in India to work night-shifts there. .Company will deny this is what they are doing, but one has to wonder how long until other Production Teams will get the same treatment? In addition to this: no pay reviews in two years, virtually no hope of getting one soon, forget about promotions, experienced and faithful staff not valued in any way (not even free pizza...)
