Pros

They have a lot of projects to offer, which is nice. Their platform is easy to use and an online based translating platform is always a plus.

Cons

Basically they won't pay you voluntarily. Yeah, the contract gives you some kind of timeline when they should pay you but they won't meet that deadline. You have to work your butt off to get your money. Contact their finance team and they will either give you some kind of excuse or ignore you all together. Too many people started asking for their money on Facebook so they blocked that as well, Twitter is no use anymore. If you contact them through their website with a highly annoyed message, there might be a helpful person answering you and actually do something about it. It requires some stubbornness to get paid with these guys. It's a shame cause otherwise there is nothing wrong with the company, but it's not the contractor's job to keep asking what they owe you time and time again. Personally I couldn't be bothered with that anymore and I'm not waiting for my money for six months or more. There are better clients out there, who actually respects you and your work.

Pros

Yes, the dreadful stories are true. However, the majority of the ex-ZOO'ians I know are now in a better place, myself included. (In deserved management titles making $10-30k more than at ZOO as their salaries are p*ss poor & their position titles are a degrading mockery too). So yes, we put in miserable hours for little or no recognition. Yes, sometimes were weren't heard or were out-right ignored. Yes, most of our bosses had no idea what our jobs entailed, let alone, how to do them. But you know, we all walked in there with highly qualified skill sets and most of us left with a career (or at least an expanded one). So if you look at it as a post-college course and/or boot camp & aren't afraid to get a lil muck on ya along the way... this is the place for you! :)

Cons

Ugg, how much time do you have?? And side note: what is going on with those poor translators these days. Pay those people, please!! Shame on you ZOO, you're better than that...

Pros

Free food. Extremely nice people

Cons

Sooner or later, death comes for everyone - you're gonna get laid off in the massive bi-annual layoff (and probably replaced by a contractor because they still need someone to do your job. Enjoy training your replacement)
