      Pros

      Zeiss invests a ton of training in their new employees. Managers get feedback on employees interests and try to build that into training. Shadowing a variety of related positions is included in training. Managers are approachable but don't micromanage. Even the president takes time to have breakfast with employees from time to time.

      Cons

      I haven't found any downsides yet. The people are great, the work is great, and the pay is great.

      Too much travel, too little training

      Pros

      Smart colleagues. Did not have to go into office. Has reasonable control of own schedule to meet with customers. Superior microscope technology.

      Cons

      A typical day start from 7 am and doesn't end till after 9 pm. Travel was about 85%, although I was told to expect 30-50%. No training or time to learn on the job. I was expected to know everything/figure it out myself from the start. Commission calculation and records were not transparent at all. Because a majority of the colleagues are in the field, there tends to be problems with communication and there's a lot of words of mouth, without knowing the truth.
