Pros
- Dynamic MNC environment. Opportunity to work with colleagues from different countries on international projects. Alot of good team work, knowledge and experiences gained through working with different depts and people from all backgrounds. - Job stability and good family, childcare benefits. Japanese companies value loyalty and long term employees are rewarded well with long service awards and job retrenchment is rare. - Proper standard operating procedures are in place which will help employees, especially new ones to follow. The guidelines help ensure quality of work and customer satisfaction is met.
Cons
- Lower pay structure compared to other MNCs - Not advisable to stay long term due to lack of growth and top down management. Learn as much as possible and move on as there are ample opportunities outside. Employees who stay are hardworking but are not motivated enough to realise their true potential and do not wish to upgrade themselves further. - Lack of communication between different depts. Sadly a problem in most big companies and this is due to lack of bonding activities and lack of time spent managing personnel who come and go in the companies/depts.
