Pros

As a colleague once said they provide me with a chair...

Cons

If you have a white face your opinion isn't valued. HR do not want to deal with people - quote I only talk to senior managers. Management is ineffective and mostly ill equipped to work in the UK. Off-shore engineers are frighteningly poor. On more than one occasion I have been ordered to lie to the customer and to cover up errors made off-shore. Full of sycophants. These people are a joke!!!

Pros

Branding due to its fore bearers of the past

Cons

Some of the name left in the brand is due to past history and work done some of the forerunners and the pillars of the organization. These days is how close you can get to the leader and praise him for everyhting he does good or bad The fever of nepotism is so widespread that they are not able to see clearly and nor or they willing to accept new out of the box thinking that the new recruits try to bring in. Sales promise a lot but is never backed the delivery, and they run CoE without the right resources, and lack both functional and technical expertise.

Pros

Some good people in the organization Good work/life balance If you like doing nothing for a while and need a mental break before finding a new job.

Cons

Where to start..... Bad leadership and lack of foresight from Wipro. In a nutshell, they don't give a hoot about Buildit. Terrible Wipro sales team, they only know how to sell cheap engineering bodies/ outsourcing. If you are a high performing engineer who keep up with the latest tech. Do not expect to use any of those skills. Terrible performance measure. It is all about utilisation. If you are billable for 3 months but bring in 3 hundred grands. You are deemed less successful than being billable for 9 months, making a 1000 bucks. People are constantly on bench as the sales team don't care about bringing any project to buildit. They give all the first dips to their buddies in India, and when it all goes to hell, they ask Buildit to help them out. Most of the clients are rooted in legacy system and monolith server, meaning that no serious digital transformation will ever take place in the next five years and Wipro love working with these guys. This means that Wipro as a business is completely unequipped to deal with the future. Once all their existing clients moved on to modern tech over the next 5, 10, 15 years. What will Wipro be left with? There is a reason why Cognizant and Accenture are growing all the time while Wipro share has stagnated and the CEO is stepping down. Of course, even if you are asked to help out with one of the project. You could be doing a fantastic job and the clients are in love with you. But guess what, Bam! the sales team and account manager kick you off the project and bring all their buddies back. If you like what you do whether that is FE, BE, DevOps, architect. My advice is to look elsewhere. If you have a job offer from them and reading this then don't take in unless you are flat broke and this is the only thing you are offered.
