Pros

Salary, if you can negotiate above market compensation.

Cons

1) Very weak talent pool in the US. 2) No opportunities for advancement in the US unless you're from India. 3) There's a proliferation of really poor ethics throughout the US organization. 4) They do not adhere to or value commonplace US workplace laws (state or federal). 5) It's a glorified staffing agency masquerading in the US as a technology consultancy. 6) They do recruit, attract, or retain talent; I don't believe they care to. They just want bodies to fill roles. 7) Their business model is to staff locally to the project, so they find themselves always in an endless cycle of recruiting an unskilled talent workforce without a feasible path for developing meaningful technical skills. 8) They foster a harassing workplace environment (within the US). 9) You'll report to manager (in India) you'll never meet. 10) Etc...

Pros

They hosted elite National Level Talent Hunt which has coding and aptitude tests, clearing it would make us eligible for project engineer role interview. I wrote this under pro because, any engineering student can apply irrespective of studying in a bad engineering institution and has no proper placement opportunities. Having basic coding knowledge and confidence can get you in wipro.

Cons

I got an offer for the role of project engineer in the month of December 2018, and guess what its August 2019, 8 months and I haven't got my joining letter yet. Wipro is top 3rd Indian IT company and I always followed azim premier's work and it was like a dream. Now, I finished my college, got my results and it's been months, I'm sitting at home not getting joining. I had offers from others companies and I regret rejecting it giving Wipro the priority. To the engineers out there, if you are applying for wipro, no problem. Also try in other companies, don't sit thinking I have an offer. If you get joining early, its complete luck or else its going to be a mess. So have offers from other companies or keep working in startups, learn something meanwhile or find part time jobs. It's going to take a lot of time

Pros

Good salary upon entry, especially in the Western markets. Great work-life balance. A good number of decent people in various locations. For early career, probably a good start to learn some ropes.

Cons

- Back Office support is completely tied to Indian staffing model and is mostly based on the concept that all staff accessing the systems are based in India. - The entire sales and delivery mindset is focused on margins, margins, margins, e.g. "how many bodies at what rate?" - Career is flat - you can get promotions slowly, but unless you're based/have strong connections in India and are Indian, you are in a dead-end. Even a VP was unable to travel for a conference because he couldn't get funds allocated. - No "business development" opportunities if on the bench - literally no charge codes if not working on a client billable project. If not in sales, and you were key to closing a$20M deal, you would still be at a high risk of dismissal. - Will not go on and on, but very easily could...
