Pros

Cutting edge approaches to serving client base. High integrity processes. Education-oriented both with employees and customers/clients. Long employee tenure is not uncommon. Tie to history back to the stagecoach engenders a sort of patriotic pride, sense of belonging.

Cons

Mergers are tough even for the most prepared and supported. i am sure the merger challenges are past them by now.

Pros

Working for a established, large bank has a lot of perks. Stability being one, even through the Wachovia merger, there were minimal layoffs. If you're located in a city with a large presence, there will be lots of opportunity to grow within the organization. Competitive product offering and some great managers.

Cons

Hard to make large changes and to always stay connected to the value of your work.
