Pros

center of Boston, good view

Cons

I have seen some posts pointed out that this company fired people occasionally, this is true. And the mystery is the CEO sometimes has meeting with managers, then tells them " We hire a lot of people recently, so your each team should fire some people". That's why they fire a lot and hire a lot at the same time. This management is really terrible. On the other side, the pay is very low and the work is boring.

Corporate America in a startup shell

Pros

In Europe, Wayfair teams are very young, and from very different backgrounds and cultures. It seems to be a lot of opportunities and we see new hires all the time.

Cons

But employees are often considered as commodities, being disposed of whenever the management wants to for reasons sometimes unrelated to performance. The management has been mainly imported from the US, and they apply their style in Europe without any consideration for the European roots of 90% of the emplyees, leading to huge cultural idiosyncrasies. The company is rigged with obscure processes and a form of nepotism. With all that, Wayfair brought the worst of corporate America in Europe

Pros

Some of the people are great and the office snacks were a perk.

Cons

All the new reviews seem incredibly fake. They seem to be written by the same person.... Employees stay at a company "when they are paid well, appreciated, involved in decisions, promoted, challenged and mentored". At Wayfair on most teams and in your role you will not get that. You will most likely be hired for a job that you do not end up even doing. Once hired, they think you are indispensable. They will move you to a new team or into a new role, and assume you can do it and want to do it. Assume the manager that hires you will change every 3-6 months. The company has such a high turnover rate because they don't care. There is so much office politics, with some of the worst leadership. They do not encourage their employees, rather they stress them out and work them till they leave. You will be called a machine, a cog in a wheel, and encouraged to have your "lowest of lows" as one C-Level Leader said. You will be given work and not be involved in decisions or communication. If you thinking of leaving your job for Wayfair, I encourage you to reconsider. People have left after 3 weeks and one person left after 2 days. The company looks great from a distance, once you are in, you will regret it.
