Pros

Wayfair has grown exponentially since I started, and being able to be a part of such a dynamic company is a lot of the reason why I've stuck around. It's definitely not a place you go to work if you want a standard 9-5. It's a vibrant office environment, the people are fantastic (you'll meet friends that you'll want to hang out with outside of work), and opportunities are definitely there for the ambitious. They are constantly implementing employee engagement tools, they care about investing in the employees as much as they want employees to invest themselves in the company. A great initiative over the last year has been Wayfair U, which is a great benefit for entry level to mid-level managers. It provides the tools and support to help younger-in-career employees grow professionally and personally.

Cons

Comp for entry to mid-level management is definitely on the low end, if at all on par with the market. They are still under the impression that opportunity and responsibility are more valuable to younger professionals than comp, which is true for the most part, but along the same vein it can only last for so long without a significant raise. They’ve done a good job over the past ~1.5 years in recruiting outside senior management which has helped bring in better management/leadership, but there are still a few groups that still have very green managers which can cause some pain. As big as Wayfair is, they still try to operate at an entrepreneurial level. Decisions, changes, and actions can be made with little to no input from all concerned parties. This causes a lot of unneeded angst when planning reactionary measures.

Pros

As a company we work hard and play hard. We have floor parties, department outings, and just generally have a good time with each other. This makes you want to do your very best work when it's crunch time - you feel like everyone, in every facet of the business, is working right alongside you.

Cons

Compared to some other companies, pay can start low for college-level positions - though benefits go a long way towards offsetting this.

Pros

Wayfair gives you the opportunity to challenge yourself and work toward your professional goals. Performance is what drives your career.

Cons

We are still a young company and the industry we are involved in is constantly changing. This means priorities and other company initiatives can constanlty be changing.
