Pros

Wal-Mart was a fun environmet to work in, the management was usually understanding when you have family issues come up. The scheduling was pretty flexible. Cross Training was always available. The people that work there are great, almost like a family. Also the 10% discount helps with the grocery bills.

Cons

Management has their favorites and keeps them under their wing. The Management really does not like it when the "sales associates" tell them how they could change things so that they work better. penalized people for reporting harassment by other employees. Almost all of the departments are understaffed, people getting pulled off the floor to collect carts... then nobody on the floor to help customers.

Pros

The other workers are everyday people who work hard and are not thanked enough for it.

Cons

Upper management are dumber than a door nail, they are not willing to help out when needed and dont communicate with others. They think they are better than others and need to just treat us all equally

Pros

If you live in an area with few job opportunities it is one of the best choices because it doesn't require you to get dirty and you are allowed lunch breaks. Most jobs in areas with few choices do not allow you enough time to eat and you will find yourself slowing down because of the lack of energy. Walmart requires you to take your lunch break before the six hour mark in your shift. You aren't required to work with dirty materials such as grease, food products, or chemicals. All precautions are taken so that you do not ruin your work attire.

Cons

Sometimes you are unable to get your work done because you will be called to the front to run a cash register. If you have a lot of tasks to accomplish this causes problems. And sometimes you have to work more than one area at the same time. There are often times when you will be working as hard as you can but unable to complete tasks due to being shifted to another task. For example if you are trying to put up the freight that has arrived you might be called to the front to run a cash register. This takes time away from you duties as a employee.
