Pros

I have no complains against Wal-mart itself. It is a job and I get a paycheck every two weeks. Some people don't even have a job, so I conceder myself very lucky that I have a job.The first 5 years I was very lucky had good raises and merit raises for doing a good job, than wal-mart polocies started changing. I am just glad I have a job.

Cons

Job advancements unfairness, favoritism between management and hourly workers, no communiction between management, ass kissing gets you advanced faster than hard work. management don't really know who the real good workers are in their shifts.

Pros

Wal-Mart paid a reasonable wage for a part time basically unskilled job. I was attending school while I was working there and they were quite accomodating of my schedule and giving me a balance between work and school.

Cons

Any customer who sees you will ask you questions regardless of which department you work in. This is because the employees in many departments spend very little time there. Also, management attempts to build enthusiasm and excitement for working there but this comes across as brainwashing. There are very few opportunities for advancement and training was fairly deficient.

Pros

Job security. You KNOW Wal-Mart is going to be there next month, next year, ten years from now... Lets face it, it would nearly take a global cataclysm to take them down. Also, you pretty much have to TRY to get fired. You can be a totally incompetant moron, and your job is still safe. They are always hiring because employee turnover is huge, so getting on should be easy.

Cons

Anymore, if you have a pulse and can show up to the inverview.... you're hired. This means you will be working with a very random cross section of the population. You don't even need to be able to speak English. Who cares if you cant understand the instructions being given to you, as long as there is a body in the department. Respect for their workers is virtually non-existant as well.
