Pros

you make friends you get a discount of 10% Besides that i do not see whatsoever any reason i would want to tell people, that this place is a decent job. It pays my bills, but barely

Cons

management treat you like a child the communication between associated is horrible! the pay isn't worth taking all the crap from customers! Or even management! `Asking for a day off is impossible to do, unless you like being made feeling guilty! `the new schedule is never, ever up on time, just a few days before the old one is over with. `So when you do ask for a day off, they say the schedule has been made, and they don't know if they can change it for your conveniences...:@ The 10% Discount is a JOKE, It only works on certain items, and that does not include food. the hours are very random! They have given people less the 12 hours a week to work. Even tho they say they never do that, and a minimum of hours has to be 12 per week! I have seen a girl get 4 hours for a week. They then blame it on the "computer" who makes the schedule! And be prepared, that no matter what, management will bend over backwards for a customer, and rarely backup you decisions,

Pros

Wal-Mart is a company that has had to change with the evolving demands of its employees, as well as its customer base and shareholders. In the seven years that I have worked for the company, Wal-Mart has attempted to balance the demands of all three. The number one reason to work for this company is the company's belief in "respect for the individual". Over the years the emphasis on this belief has increased greatly. Wal-Mart is the kind of company that really makes an attempt to please their associates.

Cons

There are times when ill tempered customers have an emotional impact. The key is to remember the positive customer experiences.

Pros

Ability to meet interesting and fun people. Walmart is somewhere that you will find something you like to do. However, depending on where you are and what education you have will make the way that you transition into another role. If you are a hard worker you will quickly rise through the in store ranks. It would be hard to grow into a senior level position from working on the floor however. All in all a good place to work if you are looking for an entry job with no education. Go for it is all I say! Good Luck!

Cons

The pay is not strong for this company and employees are often looked down upon by their peers in other companies. The hours are sometimes oddly placed and it is harder to ask off for vacations and other reasons than at other companies. You would also like to grow but it is often hard for those without education, even with many years of dedication to working at walmart. I would still recommend it as a place to pursue a job... not necessairly a career however. Go for it and do your best in any job and rewards will find you!
