Pros

None that I can think of at the moment. Just a place where I would get a paycheck. I met some of my closets friends there...that is all.

Cons

Meetings that take up development time. Higher up people have no sense or idea of technology, all too business sided. Culture is more trying to "beat" Amazon rather than being innovative and being its own company. Vendors have more say and power in projects than actual associates. No transparency at all with managers and directors. Work was not simulating and constant changes and really no guidance impeded a lot of development. People were readily to blame rather than accept fault.

Pros

Work life balance Sunnyvale location competitive pay a *handful* of smart people

Cons

Horrible management - absolutely amateurs when it comes to "leading" the company. There is so much of politics and promotions are decided on the basis of who can indulge in more bootlicking of the management. It gets frustrating when you realize that you could have just slacked off instead of working hard with so much passion to be where you are. Some people who got promoted don't even know what they were doing! What was the basis of promotions? And then these layoffs - some of them were very talented, hardworking people who sucked at politics. So there you go - talent does not matter in this company. The good talent leaves, the rest just make things worse for the ones who stay. Don't even think this place comes close to the top companies in terms of benefits, work culture or organization. The Cat Dev team is a joke that keeps doing reorgs thinking new management can solve their problems when in reality they are unable to find respectable, experienced people to lead. STAY AWAY from this place - it used to be a place where you could stay to get a regular paycheck but looks like even that doesn't hold with the layoffs.

Pros

*Great work life balance *Competitive compensation

Cons

*Lack of culture. No holiday party at the end of year. Instead, a holiday lunch was hold at one of the conference room with food taste like panda express. *Stingy all the time. For example, a baseball game outing was hosted at AT&T park, which was nice, but no shuttle was arranged. * Lack of parking. Only 70% of full time employees could get parking permits at Sunnyvale office and the permits were distributed based on how long you've worked at WalmartLabs. For others, figure it out by yourself. New hires, contractors and people commute to San Bruno office are asked to park on street(very limited space) or a public parking lot with 20mins walking distance. *Food is not subsidized. Food in cafeteria is terrible, edible though. *Less holiday compared to other companies. We need to work on Martin Luther King's day and President's day while others are on vacation. Let alone thanksgiving which did not offer an extra day off. * Lack of communication. Many people do not know what they are doing for work. * People are not passionate about their work. * Policy is not transparent. 200 people (almost 10%) are laid off recently without telling everyone the decision criteria.
