Pros

Good Work / Life Balance (get in the office at 8:30 leave the office at 6:00 (7:00-8:00 during high volume periods, 5:00-5:30 during low volume periods) Great Benefits (DC and DB plan (DB plan going away)) TW helps you with your actuarial and CFA exams

Cons

Not enough development opportunities. The work can get mundane (typical thought among many practices not just actuarial). May need to work some weekends (maybe two to five times per year for a few hours as client concerns are needed) Low pay comparative to industry average (it is best to stay for a little while and then jump ship to a competitor)

Pros

Quality of work is excellent, very research driven. Colleagues are a great asset and knowledge sharing among them is definitely a plus. Client base provides a good exposure.

Cons

Low staff engagement due to poor career and development opportunities. Dissatisfied with training/hardly any, poor compensation and rewards. Tools, such as laptops, phones and also travel allowance do not meet the standard of a top professional service firm. There is a large discrepancy between office globally. So my impression might not be representative of other offices. In a few cases communication about important regional issues is poor.

I'm moderately satisfied with TW.

Pros

Capable colleagues and good tools. A good market reputation and impressive client roster makes for a reasonably rewarding environment and good resume material.

Cons

I'm a legacy Towers Perrin associate and as much as i thought TP had areas to improve, TW has more. The move toward legacy Watson Wyatt culture and public ownership has not been positive.
