Software arm of TW is worst of all time

Pros

Some nice people who are knowledgeable in their domain, somewhat flexible about work hours and location

Cons

Software development at TW is terrible. No process whatsoever. It is severely saddled with major bugs, and management is only focused on selling more of it rather than fixing any of the problems. Don't take a software job with TW, the products are so bad they're not sustainable. Upper management is a bunch of east coast morons who figured they could buy a few utterly lousy pieces of software and somehow the dump trucks full of money would just magically appear. The most dysfunctional software shop I have ever seen.

Pros

People have great personalities and are bright. Office is a very pleasant work environment. People are always willing to help each other out, and they take their time to train.

Cons

Sometimes long hours - depending on client work The start can be slow if there is not enough time for training to happen from peers

Pros

Good clients. Good Account Management model. Decent training for junior level. Lots of offices around the world. Good work-at-home policies. Decent technology (windows 7, finally), CEO is very approachable and has delivered excellent results to shareholders.

Cons

Culture clash between legacy firms is significant, and varies greatly depending on the office and/or practice. WW was very flat, collaborative, open, but consensus driven and slow moving. TP was a very hierarchical partnership, everyone on a need-to-know only basis, and uncollaborative, but faster moving and more sales oriented. Little attention was paid to create a new culture. WW was more wild-west and innovative. TP was more structured and parters ruled. Post merger these two approaches have yet to find a happy middle ground. LIke any large firm, strategic decisions take forever. Corporate red tape has increased under the cover of a maturing firm.
