Pros

- One of the best building consultants (brands, standards, work qualities, project portfolios) - If can manage time well, 9-5 working period with very rare overtime is possible - Conducive environment to learn as fresh graduate - Encourages a lot of learning and training - Many welfare activities and incentives - No/less working politics

Cons

- The pay is relatively low, even as compared with other consultants (starting pay at $2900, have not changed for 2 years) - No overtime pay (only meal/transport if really late) - Very few company benefits & compensations - High staff turnover (expect 2 new staffs per week)

Too much, too fast

Pros

Legacy firm is nice to work for. Decent folks. Very family minded. Nice work-family balance.

Cons

Grew too much, too fast. Like Cancer. We want from some corporate oversight to full on corporate policy b-s. Growth has not been organic, and some of the promises made using merging are superseded by promises they have to make to other firms that are acquired. Locally, people's career path is not respected because it is in conflict with new firm direction, i.e. your job is made redundant because it's not the company's focus anymore. Local offices in smaller markets are used to outsource expensive work, leading to people being compartmentalized and lower wages for employees.

Pros

Large organization which was perfect for those that wished to stay anonymous and simply collect a paycheck without having to make any significant contribution.

Cons

The environment under WSP was somewhat toxic and was focused on a small elite group of Senior management looking out for their own best interests. Not a place for those that wished to contribute any unique solutions to the many problems within the organization that focused on acquiring more companies without thought of how to better integrate them..
