Pros

The car is fully expensed with a fuel card etc, you’re also left to your own devices which is nice. Good work / life balance. The product is fantastic and you can’t fault it, it’s an easy sell when you can get the price right.

Cons

Very poor pay, the basic is £1500 per month (the minimum you can earn is 22k as they top you up if you fall short, but this is still awful pay considering the job market). The company culture / mood and feel of the place is dire. Everyone is miserable and you’re lucky if you find a rep who works more than 3 hours per day (management don’t like to admit it). Stock levels in the UK are a joke and it leads to lord of angry customers and difficulty when negotiating prices. As a rep, you are treated like you are at the bottom of the barrel. Basic company information is withheld from you and it feels like you are not trusted with anything. A lot (not all) of the office staff are plain rude. There is almost no direction from upper management, the MD bangs on about wanting results for all of the KPI’s but never puts anything in place to help you get those results. Little opportunities for progression unless you want to become full time admin / punching bag as an area manager.

Pros

The product is generally good however stock availability in the UK is Dire. If you are a lazy , low quality salesperson this could be the place for you to spend your final years before retirement.

Cons

There is a culture of low performance and complete lack of customer focus from the back office and support functions. This stems from the low pay attracting low quality of staff. Why does this matter? Well no one cares. So everything is sloppy, procedures loose and admin and back office poor. You'll 100%get taxed wrong as they don't declare your vehicle or benefits correctly. So you'll spend time sorting that out with the tax man and probably get a big bill from them. They use outdated versions of SAP,( the new ones cost for upgrades) so they are slow and have poor visibility. Orders are sent out via parcel force, just inappropriate visibility and selection of courier for industrial products. There is a blind focus on activity levels as opposed to quality customer engagement, this level of engagement is of course tricky as the quality of the staff is low and turn over is very very high so difficult to implement a long term strategy with short term staff. No one in management seems to care you can earn more in a supermarket than as a field salesman.

Pros

The new leadership is very inspirational with a great vision of the future. Actions are taken relative to promises. Lots of positive changes in the last 10 months. The most impressive turnaround in such a short period of time. Growth driven, high pace and exciting work environment.

Cons

If you like status quo and complacency, this is not for you.
