Pros

good benefits, okay pay, cafeteria onsite, work gym, good people (generally)

Cons

Low starting salary when young& new so you get pigion holed (+2.5-3.5% annually) long term. Either jump between departments or leave then come back for advancement. Non-empowered (decisions made by Swedes) & silo (not my within my job scope= don't care) work mentality.

Pros

easy life and no work pressure good looking offices and meeting rooms

Cons

horrible politics and all the cleaners and mechanics and pan wala's who were joined at first have become IT managers, feel free to imagine!!! no growth path nor process, all depends on one person called manager. the words from sweedish people are treated like the one from Bhagvadgita/Quran/bible lifeless managers and mean, you have to please them to get any benifits stone age technology and if you work there for long you can go no where as ur outdated.

Pros

The Volvo Way is a proud concept which, when executed properly, would make Volvo a top company to work for. The benefits package is excellent, though impacted by recent economics. Expatriate opportunities exist for those in lower management and below. The complexity and visibility of the products makes the work very interesting.

Cons

Volvo top management has a very narrow world view focused on Sweden. Ideas inconsistent with this world view are actively discouraged even when consistent with regional market requirements. As a result, many strategic opportunities are missed and employees with broader world views and creative approaches find the environment frustrating. Volvo has actively developed a bureaucracy which makes rapid action and decision making difficult.
