Pros

Fun place to work with great brand reconition. Always changing and both in operations and merchandise. Loved yearly brand conferences, great rally before the holiday season.

Cons

No real room for promotion, have to be perfect to be promoted from within, however people from entirely different industries were hired into dsm positions.

Pros

Very satisfied with the training, and the way the management communicated changes in policies and the expectations for floor, credit cards, sales, schedules, etc. The focus on team sales rather than individual commissions is also a plus. The company provides plenty of training cards and quick quizzes when you clock in on each shift, as well as training sessions that you attend, and the location where I worked was very organized. I also rarely had problems with scheduling; you were permitted to submit your availability, and it worked well with school or other commitments. It was overall a very pleasant environment. It helps if you love the product that you're selling, and I am a huge fan of the brand image.

Cons

I worked at a top-volume store location and had a great time, probably my favorite retail job (I've worked at a few other brands), but the experience varies greatly at other locations. Also, the temptation to spend is great because you're surrounded by product--just resist the urge! At the end of the day, you're still in customer service. Deal with the occasional difficult customer and focus on the positive ones. Also, retail is not for everybody. There is room to move up if you are willing to work the hours, really shine, and management favors you.

Pros

- employee discount is 30% - pays better than many other retail chains - relatively professional environment - dress is neutral, all black is easy to pull off (employees are not forced to wear the brand) - sometimes gratis is given to employees (new launches)

Cons

- not very much room for professional growth - like all retail, management is not always the best - lots of panty folding (but that's a given...) - credit, credit, credit. That damned credit card that we're forced to push on every customer.
